Forthcoming SW Region Hasler Races

Gloucester Hasler - Sunday 15th September

Lots of notice of this one for your diary.  Consistently one of the biggest races in the SW region with over 150 entries each year since first held in 2015.  Takes place on the sheltered Gloucester Sharpness Canal which has a towpath running alongside the full length.  This is a medium width canal wide enough for large ships  - the steep sides do make for a bouncy ride!   No portages under normal circumstances.  Suitable for all paddlers.  Free parking at Gloucester Canoe Club.

This is an event that the Club target for a good turnout so please come along and paddle if you can.

A sign up sheet will be on the notice board in the Clubhouse for entries.

National Canoe Marathon Championships

National Marathon Championships - Norwich Canoe Club, 10th and 11th August

This is the annual Marathon Championship event and will be held at Whitlingham Country Park in Norwich on the 10th and 11th August.   Camping is available for the 9th 10th and 11th dedicated to paddlers and their supporters, and boats can be carried from the campsite through to the Club boathouse for the events.

A sign up sheet will be on the notice board in the Clubhouse for entries.

Other Forthcoming Races

Poole Harbour Race - 8th September

This is a circuit race of 4, 8 and 15 miles plus a junior fun race. The longer courses are a challenging circumnavigations of Brownsea island and cross choppy open water. The short course runs along the shore.

The race is a non-ranking race open to all, K boat, sea kayak, ski, WWR, OC,SUP and GP.
